POTTERY Workshops

Spend a satisfyingly creative day learning to throw and make pottery, to your own design, with Louise in her Kettering Studio.

Your pottery workshop;
The day starts at 10.00 with an introduction to the pottery over coffee and homemade biscuits.

The morning provides the opportunity to have a go at throwing on the potter’s wheel with white earthenware clay, finding out what make clay tick, by trying out other techniques such as hand building, moulds, or coiling.

When the weather is warm we can sit in the garden, please bring your own lunch, we always share a glass of wine.

Refreshment breaks with tasty biscuits happen as often as we like through the day.

In the afternoon, more time making as well as the chance to decorate and glaze a ready fired piece if you choose.

We round off the day at 3.30.

Then all the pieces will be allowed time to carefully and thoroughly dry and afterwards they are then fired. You can decide if you want all of your pieces, choose spots or striped design or leave them white, or if you’d like to learn another skill come back again one evening in a few weeks time to decorate them (small cost of £15pp).

In any case all the work will be ready for collection (or by arrangement posted to you) in 3-4 weeks.

The workshops accommodate up to 4 people, any more and it gets crowded and you won’t get the right amount of time to ask questions, you are equally welcome to book for a group of this number, or just book as a single.
