Online markets thrive

Online artisan markets and fairs continue to thrive, supporting the #shopsmall and #shopindependent movement. Small makers like myself relish the opportunity to show our products to the online audience as markets grow committed followings.

Customers tell me they love the interaction we can have over specific ideas and pottery pieces, and the fact that I make bespoke and personalised ceramics, such as my pet mementos and portraits. The web and social media based market formats are many and varied, most seem centred on Facebook and Instagram

If you follow me on Instagram you’ll have heard me sing the praises of the wonderful Pedddle an online site that gives round-up of all the markets and events taking place with links to makers like me! Now they same lovely people have added Tresstle, a market platform specifically designed to show off indie makers, so many lovely things and you can discover great events coming up!

So while I love in-person markets I will always be keen for online markets to thrive, they allow me to spend more time making in my wonderful pottery, you’ll know from my story that I adore the studio space, so they enable me to have many more positive customer conversations and gain valuable feedback and insights.
